Washington County, under the requirements of Act 101, had created the original Municipal Waste Management Plan in 1989.  This plan helps guide the disposal of municipal waste (i.e. garbage and recycling) and allows for reservation of landfill space for estimated tonnages.  The last plan update was completed in 2012, with an adoption date of 2015.  We will be conducting an update for this plan in the near future.
