US Army Corp of Engineers Chartiers Creek Watershed Flood Risk Management Study

In April 2021, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Pittsburgh District completed a Floodplain Management Services (FPMS) study for the Washington County portion of the Chartiers Creek watershed, Pennsylvania. The purpose of the FPMS study is to assess flooding concerns within the watershed and identify structural and nonstructural alternatives that may reduce flooding risk and associated damages within selected study sites. This study and the structural and non-structural alternatives identified provide examples of structural and non-structural alternatives that may be considered for other areas within the watershed with similar flooding concerns.
